Intro

When it comes to business and lifestyle, Ortigas Center has many opportunities to offer.  Ortigas Center is the second business and commercial district in the Philippines after Makati City.  It provides world-class amenities and facilities, which attracts foreign and local businessmen, tourists, as well as prospective homebuyers.  Ortigas Center is now a home to many commercial establishments like shopping malls, restaurants, nightlife bars, hotels, offices and it is also surrounded by high rise condominiums and other building complexes.  Ortigas Center is situated in a perfect location.  It is very accessible from major highways, thoroughfares, and mass transit system of Metro Manila.

Condominiums are high-rise and mid-rise buildings which consisting of individual rooms or units.  These units are like houses, they also have: living area, kitchen, dining area, bathrooms, 1-Bedroom to 4-Bedrooms, study area, balconies, and private gardens.  There are also condo units which they call “loft unit”.  These loft units are consisting of 2 floors.  Condominiums also has amenities, this include: pools, fitness gyms, playgrounds, parks, badminton and basketball courts, lounge areas, etc.  All of these amenities are shared with the residents.  Condo unit owners are required to pay a small amount of monthly fees to be used for the maintenance of the amenities.

Developers of condos in ortigas are one of the trusted developers in the Philippines.  These condo developers made sure that the condominiums their building are strong and will last longer.  There are two examples of condominiums in Ortigas Center that will be discussed in this article which are both future developments.  These condominiums are The Currency and the Allegro at Sonata Place.  The Currency is a development of Vista Land which is located in Julia Varga Avenue corner Garnet Road.  It offers Studion Unit, 1-Bedroom and 2-Bedroom Units.  Its unit prices are ranging from 3.2M – 9.3M.  Allegro at Sonata Place is one of the developments of Robinsons Land Corporation.  It offers 1-Bedroom to 3-Bedroom Units.  Unit prices range from 5.2M – 20M.  Allegro is located in Miguel Avenue corner Lourdes Street.

The Ortigas Center is situated along the boundaries of Mandaluyong City, Quezon City, and Pasig City.  Ortigas Center Association Inc. is a non-profit and non-stock organization founded in 1982, which is now the one that governed Ortigas Center.  According to the Philippine and international businessmen, Ortigas Center is the second most important Philippine Financial District and Central Business District after Makati City in Metro Manila.  

Ortigas Center began as the 4,033-hectare "Hacienda de Mandaloyon", an estate from the Augustinian Order.  In the following years, there were several changes of partners.  On July 10, 1931, the company was incorporated “Ortigas, Madrigal y cia., S. en C.” as a limited partnership by shares (sociedad comanditaria por acciones).  The parties to the partnership were Francisco Ortigas (Don Paco), Clyde A. Dewitt, B.C.M. Johnston, Manuel L. Quezon, Fulgencio Borromeo, and Vicente Madrigal.

Ortigas Center is only 20 minutes away from the Makati Central Business District and 3 minutes away from the Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) - the Philippine capital's main thoroughfare.
