Buyer's Guide: Pasig Condo

Intro

Buying a condo unit can be overwhelming.  There are various things that you need to consider when planning to buy a condo like the location, how much is your budget, what you need in a condo unit, and why are you buying it.  Before you even start looking for a Pasig Condo, it’s very important to know how much you can afford since you will have to deal with monthly mortgage for how many months or even years.  Figure out what are the important things or places that you really want to be near with.  For example: do you want to live at the heart of the city surrounded by places like shopping malls, restaurants, movie theaters, schools, workplaces, etc. where you can simply walk to and fro?  Or would you prefer to live close to nature surrounded by greens where you can rejuvenate and enjoy fresh and cool air?

We all have different kinds of preferences in life.  Whatever your preference is, keep in mind that this will be your biggest investment you’ll ever make.  Take time on figuring out what exactly you want for a home.  Don’t buy the first condo unit you see even if you love it and you think it is precisely what you want and need.  If possible search for a couple of condo units and compare them all just to make sure you won’t have any regrets in the end.

About Pasig City

Pasig City is a well developed city and is second from Makati in urbanization and financial terms.  Pasig City is primarily residential and industrial but has been becoming increasingly commercial in recent years.  The western part of the city is where most of Pasig's financial resources are primarily concentrated.  It includes numerous factories, warehouses, establishments, and commercial facilities.  The eastern part of Pasig city was mostly dominated with residential areas.  The name "Pasig" is believed as an old Sanskrit meaning "river flowing from one body of water to another" , which shortly describes the Pasig River since the river flows from Laguna de Bay to Manila Bay.

Pasig City has many historical and tourist spots.  One of the most remarkable historical spot in Pasig City is the Bahay na Tisa – the oldest bahay na bato in Pasig.  It was built in the early 1850s by Don Cecilio Tech y Cabrera.  It was called Freedom House during the Martial Law because the entire political spectrum can use the house as a venue for their important meetings.  The other remarkable historical spot is the Pasig City Museum.  This museum is previously known as Concepcion Mansion.  It was built by Don Fortunato Concepcion in 1937.  During World War II, the Japanese used this mansion as their detention center and headquarters.  On Febuary 19, 1945, the American flag was lifted atop the tower of this mansion, symbolizing the end of the Japanese occupation of Pasig City.
